John Sciaccotta Elected a Member of The DePaul University College of Law Dean's Council

Aronberg Goldgehn Member John C. Sciaccotta has been elected a Member of The DePaul University College of Law Dean's Council.

The Dean's Council is an advisory board consisting of alumni from various areas of the law practice. Individuals are nominated for membership by the dean of the College of Law and the Nominating Committee.

John will serve a three-year term on the Dean's Council.

Members of the Dean's Council advise and assist the dean as requested. Additional responsibilities include: promoting the image of the College of Law; increasing the College's outreach to law firms and alumni; advancing the mission of the College of Law through participation in raising external funds, including making an annual personal gift; increasing the interaction between the faculty and the legal world; engaging current students through increased alumni interaction; and attracting prominent attorneys to the campus as guest lecturers.

John C. Sciaccotta focuses his practice on litigation, arbitration and business counseling matters with a special emphasis on complex civil trial and appellate cases brought in federal and state courts throughout the United States. John has also been appointed by the American Arbitration Association as an Arbitrator and Lawyer Neutral to adjudicate various claims and disputes in arbitration.

For many years John has provided results-oriented and value-driven legal counsel and advice to public and privately held businesses, lenders, employers and individuals. In these and other concerns, he has experience dealing with numerous industries and business activities.

John, a 1987 graduate of DePaul University College of Law, actively serves in leadership roles with bar associations and community organizations. Among these, he is Co-Founder and Vice Chair of the Chicago Bar Association’s Business Divorce and Complex Ownership Disputes Committee; a member of the Chicago Bar Association’s Board of Managers; and a Board of Directors Member for the non-profit WINGS, which provides a path to independence for people whose lives have been disrupted by domestic violence.
