Julie Johnson and Staci Balbirer Participating in The ISBA's Women and The Law Afternoon Tea in Celebration of International Women's Day

On Thursday, March 8, 2018, the Illinois State Bar Association’s Women & the Law Committee will celebrate International Women’s Day by hosting its second annual Women and the Law Afternoon Tea.

Aronberg Goldgehn attorney Julie Johnson, who is chair of the ISBA’s Standing Committee on Women and the Law, will speak at the event. Staci Balbirer, who is a member of the ISBA’s Standing Committee on Women and the Law, is on the organizing committee for the event.

The Women and the Law Afternoon Tea will take place from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on March 8 and will be held at Soho House Chicago, 113 North Green St.

About Julie Johnson and Staci Balbirer

Julie dedicates her practice to issues of matrimonial and family law, including divorce, child custody, domestic violence/orders of protection, child support, post-judgment litigation, ante nuptial and postnuptial agreements, adoption, parentage and all other related matters. In May 2017, the Chicago Bar Association's Alliance for Women presented Julie with the Alta May Hulett Award, which honors one outstanding woman lawyer who has significantly contributed to the advancement of women in the legal profession. She is a Council Member and past Chair (20016-2017) of the Illinois State Bar Association’s Standing Committee on Women and the Law. She is also a Member of the ISBA’s Diversity Leadership Council and a Member of the ISBA’s Family Law Section. Julie has been named an Emerging Lawyer in Family Law by Leading Lawyers and a Rising Star in Family Law by Illinois Super Lawyers.

Staci concentrates her practice in the area of divorce and family law with a special focus on assisting families with special needs children. She has lectured on and authored on the topic of “How to Calculate Support for Adult Children with Special Needs,” and “The Difficulty in Understanding and Applying Section 5/513(a) (1) of the Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of Marriage Act.” She has also authored on topics relating to how the new amendments of the Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of Marriage Act can and will affect a potential dissolution proceeding. Staci is a member of the Illinois Bar Association’s Standing Committee on Women and the Law. She has been named a Rising Star in Family Law by Illinois Super Lawyers.
