John Sciaccotta Elected to Membership in the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel

Aronberg Goldgehn Davis & Garmisa member John C. Sciaccotta has been elected a Member of the prestigious Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel (FDCC).

The FDCC is composed of recognized leaders in the legal community who have achieved professional distinction. FDCC Membership is limited, selective and by nomination only.

“I am so honored to have been elected,” said John. “The FDCC is truly comprised of the some of the best litigators in the country.” Election to FDCC is by the Board of Directors upon recommendation of an independent Admissions Committee charged with investigating the qualifications of each nominee to ensure that those selected have distinguished themselves professionally. Current membership is slightly over 1,400, and includes members from each of the United States, plus Australia, Canada, Europe, Puerto Rico, and other areas.

John focuses his practice on litigation, arbitration and business counseling matters with a special emphasis on complex civil trial and appellate cases brought in federal and state courts throughout the United States. He has also been appointed by the American Arbitration Association as an Arbitrator and Lawyer Neutral to adjudicate various claims and disputes in arbitration.

For many years John has provided results-oriented and value-driven legal counsel and advice to public and privately held businesses, lenders, employers and individuals. In these and other concerns, he has experience dealing with numerous industries and business activities.

He has been awarded an AV® Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, its highest rating for ethical standards and legal ability. Also among his accolades, John has been recognized as an Illinois Leading Lawyer and has been named a Super Lawyer in Business Litigation by Illinois Super Lawyers.

Throughout his career, John has been active with many professional associations in addition to devoting his time to community service. Among his roles, he has served on the Board of Trustees for The Chicago Bar Foundation’s Investing in Justice Campaign; was President of The Justinian Society of Lawyers; and was a Director with The Civic Federation of Chicago.

John joined Aronberg Goldghen in April 2015 from Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP. He practiced at its Chicago office predecessor firm, Shefsky & Froelich, for 15 years.
