Aronberg Goldgehn Appoints New Practice Group Chairs

Aronberg Goldgehn Davis & Garmisa has appointed new leaders for two of its principal practice groups. Nathan H. Lichtenstein and Amy Rapoport Gibson will Co-Chair the firm’s Commercial Litigation Group while Paul A. Gilman and Timothy R. Nelson will Co-Chair the Business Law & Transactions Group.

In addition to overseeing the day-to-day functions of their respective groups, the new Co-Chairs will emphasize ongoing training and education and the importance of keeping abreast of developments in the ever-changing business and legal climate of the 21st Century.

About the Practice Group Co-Chairs

Nathan H. Lichtenstein, Co-Chair of the Commercial Litigation Group, represents clients in complex commercial litigation, including Uniform Commercial Code matters, breach of contract claims, fraud and consumer fraud actions, trademark and copyright infringement cases, shareholder derivative suits, tax controversy matters and unfair competition claims. He has extensive experience in banking, insurance, real estate, employment, viaticals and life settlements, and corporate matters. He has tried cases throughout the United States in state and federal courts, has argued cases before state and federal appellate courts, and has represented numerous clients in domestic and international arbitration hearings. Nate joined Aronberg Goldgehn as a member in 1983.

Amy Rapoport Gibson, Co-Chair of the Commercial Litigation Group, handles a variety of commercial litigation matters for the firm’s clients. Her practice includes a concentration on shareholder disputes, claims under the Business Corporation Act and breach of fiduciary duty. She also focuses on employment litigation, including claims for discrimination, breach of noncompetition agreements and trade secret misappropriation. Amy also has extensive real estate litigation experience, including claims for trespass and nuisance. Amy was elected a member of the Aronberg Goldgehn in January 2015. She joined the firm as an associate in 2007 and was a law clerk in 2006.

Paul A. Gilman, Co-Chair of the Business Law & Transactions Group, concentrates his practice in corporate, healthcare, tax, estate planning and real estate matters. He advises clients on corporate formation and structure; contract preparation and negotiation; capital financing, including public and private offerings of securities, syndication of investment interests and venture capital finance; and mergers and acquisitions. He counsels clients on tax and financial planning matters, including wealth and succession planning techniques. Paul also serves as outside "general counsel" to a large number of privately held businesses, acting as a trusted advisor and counselor to these entities and their principals. Paul joined Aronberg Goldgehn as a member in March 2002.

Timothy R. Nelson,Co-Chair of the Business Law & Transactions Group, represents businesses, lenders and real estate clients in a broad range of matters and transactions; often serving as outside general counsel for middle market and privately held businesses. Tim frequently represents clients in connection with mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, business formation and governance matters, corporate structure and business planning matters, private debt and equity offerings, shareholder disputes, commercial finance transactions, as well as leasing and licensing transactions. Tim also handles a range of technology and intellectual property transactions involving trademark and copyright matters, Internet and software matters, and the protection of trade secrets. Tim joined Aronberg Goldgehn as an associate in November 2010 and was elected a member in January 2015.
