Aronberg Goldgehn Further Expands Its Intellectual Property Practice With the Addition of Patent Lawyer Matthew "Chip" De Preter

Matthew “Chip” De Preter has joined Aronberg Goldgehn’s Intellectual Property Practice Group as a Member. The addition of Chip expands the capabilities of the firm’s growing intellectual property practice to include patent prosecution services.

A specialist in intellectual property protection and enforcement, with a background in electrical engineering, Chip assists clients in the development and implementation of targeted strategies for maximizing the potential of clients’ intellectual output and protecting clients’ market share. Chip has helped numerous companies and individuals protect, build value, and profit from their creative products through securing patents and trademarks before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and negotiating licensing and other intellectual property agreements.

Chip is an experienced litigator and trial attorney who represents clients in patent, trademark, trade secret and false advertising litigation.

In addition to representing patent and trademark owners in the enforcement of intellectual property against various infringers in the market place, Chip also represents domestic and multi-national companies against accusations of patent and trademark infringement, anti-trust violations, the misappropriation of trade secrets and unfair competition. And while sometimes litigation is necessary, much of Chip’s strategic efforts remain devoted to counseling clients in the avoidance of litigation.

Prior to joining Aronberg Goldgehn, Chip was a member at Olson & Cepuritis, Ltd., where he had practiced law since 2014.
